SARGODHA- Construction of a 70 km dual carriageway from Sargodha via Chiniot to Faisalabad is estimated at Rs 18.19 billion while the project would be carried out under a public-private partnership.
This was revealed at a review meeting chaired by Commissioner Dr Irshad Ahmed here on Wednesday.
The meeting was informed that 800-Kanal land would be purchased from Sargodha, Chiniot and Faisalabad for the road for which funds have been released. Three flyovers and shoulders on both sides of the roads would be constructed at Chiniot City, Chiniot Jhang Road and Sargodha Chiniot Road, while 3 toll booths, 7 U-turns and 8 bridges were included in the project. The Commissioner has ordered Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sargodha Imran Qureshi to immediately complete the land purchase process for the construction of the road. During the meeting, SDO Autoroutes Chiniot informed of the steps taken in his district for the construction of roads.
RPO FOR THE QUALITY OF
INVESTIGATION IN POLICE STATIONS
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha Imran Mehmood said attention was being paid to the quality of investigation at police stations.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, he said “it was the primary responsibility of the police to control crime and promote a sense of security among citizens.”
